Fatal Kingstree shooting death of Edwin Cooper
Kingstree authorities have confirmed that 16-year-old Edwin Cooper was killed in a shooting at the Kings Crossing Apartment Complex on Sunday evening. The Williamsburg County Coroner’s Office has officially identified Mycheal Edwards-Wallace, 18, and Edwin Cooper, both from Kingstree, as the victims of the fatal shooting at the apartment complex. An autopsy for Edwin Cooper is scheduled for July 5th.
Kingstree police responded to reports of a shooting around 8:16 PM Sunday at the Kings Crossing Apartments located at North Brooks Street. The police department reported finding four individuals involved in the incident. Tragically, one person died at the scene, while EMS transported the other three to a regional hospital, where another victim later succumbed to their injuries.
Coroner Ivori L. Henryhand has identified the two deceased individuals as Edwin Cooper and Mycheal Edwards-Wallace. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has taken over the investigation into this weekend’s fatal shooting. As of now, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with this shooting incident.
