Fatal Myrtle Beach shooting death of Grayson Meyers
The Orange County medical examiner has officially identified the young man killed during Friday’s incident at the Peaches Corner venue in Myrtle Beach. This tragic event marks the most recent fatality linked to firearms violence on N. Ocean Boulevard.
Peaches Corner authorities reported that seventeen-year-old Evany McCray faces multiple serious criminal charges connected to the tragedy. These allegations include first-degree murder and battery charges involving severe harm. As part of the legal process, McCray, also seventeen and from Conway, is being treated as an adult despite his age. He is currently incarcerated without the possibility of release at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
Says officials, the suspect was employed at the well-known restaurant located at 900 N. Ocean Boulevard. According to law enforcement, a brief argument occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Friday. They state McCray is alleged to have retrieved a handgun shortly after the dispute began and discharged it towards the street. This action resulted in the death of the employee and also injured a pedestrian who was crossing the road at that time.
