A woman who passed away after being discovered insensible in the local detention center has been officially identified by the county’s official investigator.

The official examiner for Pueblo County announced that a 32-year-old female resident of Pueblo, Jewelli Carrillo, was located in a state of unresponsiveness within her solitary confinement cell at the Pueblo County facility on the 24th of June, and she ultimately lost her life at a nearby medical institution. According to Brian Cotter, the county’s official investigator, additional examination is planned, and the person’s relatives have been notified.

Further details regarding this unfortunate passing at the Pueblo County jail are being looked into.

Information from the Pueblo County law enforcement agency indicates that Carrillo was detected in her cell on a Tuesday, in the afternoon, without any apparent consciousness. Medical personnel and correctional officers promptly began life-saving actions, which were then carried over by emergency services and a medical response group.

She was transported to a regional hospital, where her pulse was described as feeble, but she unfortunately did not survive.

Initial probes reveal no abnormalities suggesting improper conduct, and she had only been confined for a short duration, just a bit over twenty-four hours.
