Fatal Grimes car crash death of Jok Mayom Jr.
A young man has lost his life as a result of injuries sustained in a one-car accident that occurred on June 27 in the area of Grimes.
The individual operating the vehicle at the time of the incident was confirmed to be Jok Mayom Jr., who was 18 years old. He unfortunately passed away in a medical facility on Monday, June 30.
It was reported that Mr. Mayom was alone inside the car involved in the mishap.
Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the NE Edgewood Drive vicinity, specifically the 700 block, in Grimes following news of the vehicle overturning on that date.
The operator of the car was airlifted to a nearby hospital on the same day, arriving with serious trauma.
Ongoing probes by the authorities include examining the crash location and collecting accounts from people who might have seen the event unfold. A final judgment on the circumstances is yet to be reached.
