Fatal Bucktown shooting death of Murray
The Chicago Fire Department and police responded to reports of gunfire in the Bucktown area, specifically the 2200-block of West Cortland Street, around 3 a.m. on Saturday. Emergency responders found a man without a pulse in that location.
Officials later confirmed the man, identified as a 32-year-old named Murray, had sustained a chest wound from a gunshot. Medical staff attempted to save him at St. Mary’s Hospital, but he did not survive the injuries.
On Sunday, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified the deceased as Murray. The police department, specifically Area Five detectives, are currently investigating the incident. As of now, no suspect is being held. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the shooting.
