Nickolus Lucero Dies in Fatal El Paso Car Crash
Nickolus Lucero, a 36-year-old man, died following a serious collision involving a motorcycle in El Paso over the weekend.
The incident occurred on Sunday on the 9600 block of Montana Street in the city’s eastern sector. Police stated that the injured motorcyclist, identified as Lucero, was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary reports from the authorities indicate the motorcycle was being ridden at an elevated speed in the eastern direction. At the same time, a 2021 model GMC Terrain was leaving a private driveway on Montana Street and moving forward.
Lucero was unable to successfully steer clear of the SUV and collided with its rear end. The fatality resulted from the injuries sustained during this unfortunate traffic event.
Investigators are examining whether speeding by the motorcyclist and the SUV operator not yielding the right of way were contributing factors in the incident.
This unfortunate event marks the 30th traffic-related fatality this year in El Paso, a slight decrease compared to this period last year when 31 fatalities were recorded.
