Fatal Cabazon shooting death of Orlando Lara
Morongo reservation north of Cabazon and Banning is the location where Orlando Lara, a man of 50 years, was discovered deceased on Wednesday evening, informed law enforcement.
At approximately 10:50 p.m. on June 25th, authorities from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department received notification of a deceased individual’s presence within the 47000 block of Morongo Road. That road is situated between Cabazon and Banning and lies north of the major highway, I-10. Responders arrived at the scene to find Orlando Lara in a condition exhibiting significant injuries and clear evidence of fatality.
At this time, investigators have not released information regarding the method used to end Orlando Lara’s life or any potential underlying reasons for the event.
Law enforcement took Robert Leonard, a 43-year-old person from Beaumont, into custody on Friday. The reason for his detention was suspicion of committing murder.
