Fatal Forrest County car crash death of Sabrina Ruffin
A 47-year-old woman from Laurel lost her life as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic incident involving two vehicles in Forrest County on Saturday evening. The Mississippi Highway Patrol reported responding to the accident on U.S. 49 within the county. The coroner, Lisa Klem, confirmed the victim, Sabrina Ruffin, was identified. According to the preliminary investigation, Ruffin was operating a 2000 GMC Yukon heading south on U.S. 49. She was struck from behind by a 2017 Toyota Corolla being driven by Clinton Hoover, who was also heading south and is a resident of Fairhope, Alabama. The investigation indicates Ruffin did not survive the impact from the collision. Hoover has been arrested and faces charges related to driving under the influence. The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to examine the incident.
