Brittany Chantel Fraser dies in fatal Kelowna car crash
Fatal Kelowna car crash death of Brittany Chantel Fraser
A woman killed while attempting to cross a major road at a Kelowna intersection has now been identified. The fatal collision occurred at the junction of Burtch Road and Highway 97 on June 21.
Brittany Chantel Fraser, aged thirty-three, met her demise at this specific location on that date. Her memorial service is scheduled for later this week in Cranbrook. It’s noted that Fraser had moved from Penticton to Kelowna not long ago.
Her mother, Lynn Townsend, expressed that her daughter made a significant impact on everyone who knew her, and that is the way she will be remembered.
Townsend shared, “She was bright and bubbly. Her laugh could fill a room, and her presence brought energy wherever she went.” She elaborated, “She had a way of drawing people in—through her wild antics, her vibrant personality, or the playful, creative ways she connected with those around her. She was always, unapologetically, herself.”
Townsend also mentioned that even while carrying heavy burdens, her daughter discovered ways to bring light to her surroundings. She stated, “That light was real, it was strong, and it made a difference.”
Fraser leaves behind her family, friends, and her cat named Goliath. Her funeral service is set to be held at the Cranbrook Fellowship Baptist Church on July 5 at 11 a.m.
An online fundraising campaign has been initiated to assist with the expenses associated with her funeral for her family members.
The incident that led to Fraser’s death happened at 3:15 p.m. on June 21 at the Burtch Road and Highway 97 intersection.
RCMP investigators were dispatched to the location, which involved two vehicles. Both drivers stayed at the scene and worked with police personnel. They received medical treatment for injuries that are not specified. Authorities stated that speed was considered a contributing factor in the accident.
