The Madison County Coroner, Sam Butikofer, has identified the deceased from Rigby as Brody Garner, who passed away early Sunday morning.

The Idaho State Police reported that Garner was traveling westbound on 7800 South in a 2025 Kawasaki EX500 at approximately 1 a.m. He lost control of his vehicle while navigating a curve and suffered a fatal crash.

Garner was wearing a helmet at the time, but unfortunately, he did not survive the incident.

Emergency response involved the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Madison County Fire and EMS, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Air Idaho.

Further information on this case is pending.

Thomas Ray Archibald, a 69-year-old from Rexburg, was identified as the driver of the vehicle involved in the other fatal crash.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office stated that the accident occurred around noon Sunday on Idaho Highway 33, near the Sportsman’s Gun Range.

Deputies arrived and found that a truck with a trailer was turning south on East Butte Road when Archibald attempted to pass it but failed.

His vehicle collided with the truck, causing it to roll into a ditch.

Bystanders and deputies immediately began CPR on Archibald until emergency medical services arrived. Despite extensive efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing.
