Danielle Cosbie-Davidson dies in fatal Gilbert poisoning
Fatal Gilbert poisoning death of Danielle Cosbie-Davidson
Law enforcement arrested a man following accusations that he caused the death of his spouse through the introduction of harmful substances into her drink. The incident unfolded in Gilbert, Arizona, and authorities confirmed the cause was poisoning.
The victim, identified as Danielle Cosbie-Davidson, was a woman with severe cognitive impairment and spent a significant period at an assisted living center called Eternal Spring of Gilbert. Her health deteriorated rapidly after her husband initiated frequent visits, which apparently led to her demise on June 11.
Investigators reported that when her remains were discovered, preliminary findings indicated unusual signs, such as marks on her neck and oral cavity, suggesting complications from the poison. Additionally, her tongue showed discoloration, likely from the dye in the beverage.
Staff at the care facility stated that the husband had instructed them against providing nourishment to his partner and took measures to obstruct routine inspections, despite their efforts to ensure her well-being.
Upon being questioned by police, the accused confessed to the crime. According to official records, he initially tried to administer a dangerous substance by breaking up a specific medication and adding it to his wife’s sustenance, but she survived that incident. Subsequently, he purchased ordinary drugs from a local store and mixed them into a chilled beverage from a nearby establishment. In his admission, he also acknowledged suffocating her with bedding until she no longer breathed.
Officers noted that there were earlier conflicts between the couple while they were living together. The man, whose name is Justin Davidson, was taken into custody and formally charged with the most serious form of homicide. A financial guarantee of one million dollars has been set for his release pending trial.
