Fatal Boone County car crash death of Donald Ruf
Sixty-three-year-old Donald Ruf from Belvidere has been confirmed as the individual who was struck by a semi during an accident occurring on U.S. Route 20 east of Shattuck Road on Saturday.

On Tuesday, the Coroner’s office of Boone County announced that Ruf has been identified, and an autopsy revealed that his death resulted from the trauma sustained in the collision.
The incident transpired approximately at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, involving a semi-truck. To investigate the significant event, the location was cordoned off.
Based on information from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the operator of the semi truck remained uninjured and remained at the scene.
