Doris Jones dies in fatal North Philadelphia vehicle collision
Fatal North Philadelphia vehicle collision death of Doris Jones
The incident occurred in North Philadelphia on Saturday, June 28, approximately at 2:30 p.m. Doris Jones, who was seventy years old, was captured on video crossing the intersection of 13th and West Somerset streets.
According to the footage, another woman engaged in an argument with the driver of a silver KIA sedan. The driver then turned right onto West Somerset Street, proceeding towards Broad Street. The video shows the individual backing the vehicle and driving it back in the direction of the unidentified female.
Jones was pinned against the front door of a corner store that the car subsequently crashed into. The video evidence suggests the other woman might have been hit by debris or the vehicle itself, although police reports only indicate Doris Jones was struck. In the recording, the other woman does not seem to have suffered injuries.
Suffering extensive injuries, Doris Jones’ family is imploring the public to contact the police with any information they might have. They are reminding people that they can provide their information anonymously.
