Fatal Hollywood assault death of Jessica McLaughlin

A 7-Eleven employee in Hollywood tragically passed away after being attacked by her store manager during a work shift last week, reports indicate.

Los Angeles police were dispatched to the convenience store on Melrose Avenue after receiving a call about a serious physical altercation at 2:15 p.m. on June 24th. When officers arrived, they found a young woman unconscious with severe injuries.

The family has identified the deceased as Jessica McLaughlin. Her sibling reported that the assistant manager provoked Jessica near the end of her shift and threw a bottle at her. The situation quickly intensified, with employees stating the manager pinned Jessica to the floor, causing her to lose consciousness due to lack of oxygen.

According to the family, the manager attempted to tamper with store security footage before fleeing on a bicycle. Medical professionals informed the family that the oxygen deprivation resulted in permanent brain damage. Jessica was declared clinically dead.

Her family is planning to remove life support soon while arranging funeral services. The victim had previously mentioned experiencing workplace bullying.

Jessica’s brother established a fundraising page for her funeral expenses, sharing heartfelt memories of his sister. “Jessica didn’t deserve this,” he stated. “She was such a wonderful person and we want to give her the proper farewell.”

Coworkers tried to perform CPR on the injured employee, but unfortunately, it was too late. Police are continuing their search for the suspect who fled the scene. The 7-Eleven chain has been contacted by news outlets regarding this incident.
