An individual identified as Johnny Talley Jr., aged 27, has passed away following injuries sustained in a shooting incident that occurred on the city’s east side this past Saturday morning. Law enforcement confirmed this tragic outcome.
According to official statements, the fatal event transpired around the early hours of 9 a.m. on Saturday. Initial reports indicated gunshots were fired in the vicinity of East 42nd Street and Mitthoefer Road. Upon arriving at the scene, police observed a vehicle attempting to flee and initiated a pursuit. During this chase, the suspect’s car collided with an ambulance and eventually stopped near 16th Street. The driver and passenger of the vehicle involved have been taken into custody by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, with the incident under investigation.
Emergency responders discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds in critical condition at the initial location. A third person, also injured by gunfire, was located nearby. Johnny Talley Jr. was confirmed as one of the two fatal shooting victims.
The third survivor, who sustained injuries from the gunfire, is reported to be in serious but stable health. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has released information indicating that the suspects are under arrest and that there is currently no active threat to the public.
