Fatal Indianapolis shooting death of Kenneth Lyles and Johnny Talley Jr.
Indianapolis police have confirmed the deaths of Kenneth Lyles and Johnny Talley Jr., following a violent shooting incident on the city’s east side. The fatal shots struck the two men in their 20s during the early morning hours of Saturday.
Police from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were first dispatched to East 42nd Street and Mitthoefer Road around 9 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed a vehicle speeding away and began a pursuit. The suspect vehicle then reportedly crashed into an ambulance and stopped near 16th Street. The two people inside were arrested and are considered linked to the shooting incident.
Investigators discovered the two victims at the initial crime location, both suffering gunshot injuries and reported in critical condition. Subsequently, emergency crews located a third individual involved in the incident, who is still receiving hospital treatment but is expected to recover.
Officials have stated there is no ongoing threat to the general public. The investigation is ongoing, and the two suspects whose apprehension is confirmed are currently being held.
