Tragic car mishap on US Highway 75 in Allen claims life of Garland man
According to reports, a fatal vehicle collision happened early on Sunday morning along the southbound stretch of US 75 located in Allen. The unfortunate incident involved an automobile colliding with a large truck-trailer combination. The operator of the passenger vehicle, recognized as 52-year-old Rodolfo Rodriguez Sr. from Garland, did not survive the accident. Another occupant within the car sustained only minor harm.
Allen Police Division is investigating the incident to determine its exact cause.

Information gathered from the Allen Police Department indicates a deadly crash occurred sometime around 6:55 a.m. Sunday on southbound US 75, just below the Bethany Drive overpass in Allen. Responding officers encountered a serious collision between a white Chevrolet Malibu sedan and a truck-trailer unit. According to initial findings, the Malibu departed its designated travel path and subsequently collided with the rear of the parked truck-trailer, which was stopped on the right shoulder with its hazard lights blinking. Police and fire department personnel arrived at the scene and discovered the driver of the Malibu unconscious and confined inside. The medical examiner from Collin County confirmed the individual inside the car was deceased at the location. A passenger in the Malibu car suffered minor injuries and went to a medical center for treatment. The operator of the truck-trailer suffered no injuries and stayed behind to assist investigators. For several hours, traffic flow on two southbound lanes of US 75 was halted due to the ongoing investigation and cleanup efforts. The deceased person is identified as 52-year-old Rodolfo Rodriguez Sr. of Garland.
