A bicyclist has been identified as the victim of a fatal traffic collision in northeast Iowa. The incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, approximately three miles north of West Union.

The Iowa State Patrol reported that a bicycle, operated by 76-year-old Ronald Saboe of West Union, was traveling southbound on Juniper Road when it was struck near the intersection with Kitty Road. The minivan, driven by 72-year-old Steven Steinberg of Ossian, was also moving southbound at the time of the accident.

Saboe was pronounced dead at the scene and is now identified by authorities. The ongoing investigation into the crash involves the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, West Union Police Department, West Union Fire Department, and Gunderson EMS.
