Shane Hedden, 48, Dies During Medical Episode in DNR Custody
West Terre Haute, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A medical episode investigation is currently underway following the death of a man while in the custody of the Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division.
Forty-eight-year-old Shane Hedden was placed into custody by the DNR Enforcement Division on Saturday for resisting law enforcement, according to a news release from Indiana State Police. While in custody, Mr. Hedden reported experiencing pain and was subsequently moved to a hospital in the Terre Haute area.
The news release indicates that Mr. Hedden suffered a medical episode at the hospital and was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, with Indiana State Police requested to lead the ongoing investigation.
