Fatal Gatlinburg car crash death of Thomas Largent

A tragic vehicle accident unfolded in Gatlinburg on Friday morning, resulting in the death of Thomas Largent, according to reports from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The incident occurred at approximately 5:53 a.m., when Largent, a 43-year-old man, was operating a 2001 Toyota Tundra on East Parkway heading east. In a severe loss of control, his car veered into the oncoming traffic lane and collided head-on with a large commercial truck.

Following the collision, both the Toyota Tundra and the Kenworth 2NK truck were reported to have ended up in a ditch located on the southern side of East Parkway, near the 4857 mile marker. Tragically, Largent did not survive the impact, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the commercial vehicle, identified as Fredrick Reed, emerged unharmed, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol has indicated that no criminal charges will be pursued against him at this time.

The authorities initiated a comprehensive probe into the accident, with a formal crash report issued by the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirming that Largent’s vehicle had crossed the center line and made contact with the truck directly.
