The Lansing Police Department has confirmed that Timothy McGovern, a 26-year-old man, was killed in a shooting that occurred over the weekend.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of BeauJardin Drive around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. They found McGovern suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel transported him to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Elijah Larkin, who is 22 years old and from Delta Twp., has been formally charged with Open Murder and Felony Firearm possession in connection with the incident. Larkin appeared in court for an arraignment. His next scheduled appearance is a probable cause hearing set for July 11th. A preliminary examination hearing is also planned for July 18th.
