A 77-year-old woman, identified as Tonya Vanosdol, has been declared deceased after suffering fatal injuries from flames that destroyed a residence in the Arlington region during the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to official reports from the Rush County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were dispatched to the location shortly after 4 a.m. and found the dwelling completely surrounded by fire. Initial assessments indicated that an individual was still present inside the property at the time of the blaze.
The Rush County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Ms. Vanosdol did not survive the incident, with medical professionals at the site pronouncing her death immediately following their arrival. This information was made public after the victim’s identity was officially announced on July 1, 2025.
