Emergency services responded to reports of gunfire at Léon-Gravel Park in Brossard shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday. The incident occurred at this outdoor location situated on Marie-Victorin Boulevard.
Investigators believe bystanders assisted the injured man before transporting him to a medical facility. Unfortunately, the victim did not survive his injuries.
In an uncommon development, law enforcement identified the deceased as Cédric Bélizaire. Police spokesperson Marie Beauvais indicated this release was made to potentially identify potential witnesses. “Sharing the name may help us understand Mr. Bélizaire’s activities during the previous evening,” she explained.
