Olivia Michalczuk dies in fatal Manitoba car crash
Fatal Manitoba car crash death of Olivia Michalczuk
A third individual has passed away as a result of a deadly collision involving two vehicles, which earlier this week took the lives of a musician from a Winnipeg band and his companion. According to reports, Olivia Michalczuk and Brendan Berg were killed in the incident that occurred on Tuesday.
The Royal Canoe band released a statement indicating that Berg, who would have turned 43 on Wednesday, and Michalczuk, who was 31 years old, were the passengers in the vehicle. The authorities mentioned that preliminary findings suggest the other car, which was traveling south on Highway 10, crossed the central line and collided with the stationary vehicle they were in. This caused Berg and Michalczuk’s car to roll down an embankment.
The operator of the other car, a 36-year-old man from Winnipeg, and a 29-year-old passenger from Swan River, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. It was later confirmed that the passenger from the second car did not survive their injuries. The driver of that vehicle is reported to be in stable condition at the hospital.
The RCMP responded to the scene of the head-on collision at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Canada Day, about three kilometers north of Bowsman. The crash happened near Duck Mountain Provincial Park, roughly 280 kilometers west of Brandon. Both vehicles were found in a ditch, with one of them turned upside down upon arrival of emergency services. The ongoing investigation is being handled by the Swan River RCMP, along with their criminal collision investigation team and a traffic expert.
