Hickory, North Carolina Man James David Houser Wanted in Connection to Motel Shooting Death
HICKORY, N.C. — James David Houser, a 30-year-old resident of Hickory, has been identified as the suspect in the fatal shooting of Mary Elizabeth Ervin, also 30, inside a local motel room.
According to the Hickory Police Department, officers responded to the Deluxe Inn on Highway 70 SW around 6:41 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, after receiving a report of an unresponsive woman. Upon arrival, they found Ervin deceased inside the room from an apparent gunshot wound.
During the investigation, detectives named Houser as a suspect in Ervin’s death. A warrant for murder has been issued, and authorities are actively searching for him.
