Fatal Monroe County motorcycle collision death of Hunter Warthan
BLOOMINGTON – A fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Saturday evening at the junction of West State Road 45 and Airport Road, located within Monroe County. Responding agencies arrived at the crash site around 6:08 p.m. on July 5th. Emergency medical technicians discovered the motorcyclist had received critical injuries that proved fatal.
The investigation indicates the incident involved a Harley-Davidson motorcycle colliding with a Chevrolet Cruze. The motorcyclist, identified as Hunter Warthan, who was 24 years old and from Bedford, Indiana, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Chevrolet Cruze driver was identified as Victoria Lewis, a 19-year-old from Spencer, Indiana.
To facilitate the ongoing crash reconstruction, authorities implemented traffic control measures from approximately 6:08 p.m. until around 8:30 p.m. The preliminary cause for the collision is currently under examination by officials.
