Fatal Williamsburg drowning death of Lucas Mattie
A young boy was discovered deceased in a swimming pool at his house on Friday afternoon. The Whitley County Coroner’s Office confirmed the child is 16-month-old Lucas Mattie from Williamsburg. Authorities were alerted to the incident at a residence in Williamsburg around 7 p.m. Friday after receiving a report. Upon their arrival, officers found Mattie in the pool and immediately contacted medical professionals. He was transported to Baptist Health in Corbin, but medical staff later pronounced him dead. The Kentucky State Police is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
