Chicago, Illinois Woman Wendy Tolbert Arrested in Chicago for Fatally Stabbing Child, Setting House on Fire
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — Wendy Tolbert, a 45-year-old resident of Chicago, was arrested in Chicago in connection with the fatal stabbing of her 4-year-old son and the attempted murder of her two other children, followed by setting their home on fire.
According to the Chicago Police Department, Tolbert was taken into custody on Friday at the scene of the incident, where officers found her holding a knife and a burning paper towel. Authorities say the attack began when Tolbert stabbed her 10-year-old son, then fatally stabbed her 4-year-old child before attacking her 13-year-old daughter and setting the house ablaze.
Tolbert was transported to the Cook County Jail and is currently facing 14 charges, including first-degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated arson, and aggravated battery.
