Fatal Middletown house fire death of Douglas Daughetee
A man named Douglas Daughetee, who was 63 years old, has died following injuries sustained in a fire that destroyed a home in Middletown, Warren County. Warren County Coroner’s Office officials announced that Mr. Daughetee, 63, died at a medical facility after being rescued from the burning building.
The other person who passed away in this incident has not yet been identified. Emergency responders reported that one firefighter encountered a minor injury during the operation.
According to Middletown city officials, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 1800 block of Clarendon Avenue shortly before 8:30 a.m. upon receiving notification of the blaze. When they arrived, firefighters located two individuals inside the residence and evacuated them. Both victims were transported to a regional hospital but unfortunately did not survive their burns and smoke inhalation injuries.
The fire department is still investigating the origin and cause of this early morning fire. Authorities have not released any information suggesting the fire was intentionally set. The Warren County Coroner’s Office continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
