The incident took place at a gas station on Siegen Lane. Authorities reported that the woman, identified as Tammy Nilsen, was struck by a car and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The coroner’s statement indicated that Nilsen was involved in the accident around 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning. She was located at the RaceTrac facility, just prior to the westbound approach of I-10. Emergency responders, including personnel from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Department, the St. George Fire Division, and Baton Rouge medical services, arrived swiftly at the early morning crash site to provide aid and manage the situation.
