Fatal Greenfield Shooting Death of Ted Feasel
Hancock County authorities are investigating the death of 54-year-old Ted Feasel, who was pronounced dead at a local hospital following a law enforcement shooting in Greenfield on Monday, July 7th, 2025.
Local police officers responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence located on Sedgewick Lane, situated at the intersection of South State and Tague streets. According to state police, Feasel was the initial point of contact upon their arrival, though he refused entry and conversation when officers attempted to speak with him.
Despite efforts to engage Feasel through the door, the suspect eventually opened it and pointed a firearm directly at the responding officers. In self-defense, the officers returned fire. Troopers reported that emergency medical aid was administered to Feasel on the scene, and he was transported to a medical facility for treatment, where he later died.
No officers or innocent bystanders sustained injuries during this incident. Law enforcement officials are currently reviewing the body-worn camera footage from the officers involved to gain further insight into the events that transpired. The three officers, identified as Blake Crull (10 years service), Jarrod Davis (6 years service), and Ryan Morefield (5 years service), are on administrative leave, which is standard procedure following the use of force.
