Fatal Bakersfield stabbing death of Adrienne Monique Ramos

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office announced the apprehension of a suspect late Saturday following a violent incident at a residence in the 6400 block of Springtime Court. Luis Soto-Espinoza, identified as 26 years old, is charged with first-degree murder and remains under medical supervision.

Emergency dispatchers were activated shortly before 05:00 on Saturday morning. Responding officers discovered two individuals at the scene along with Soto-Espinoza. One person sustained life-threatening injuries, while the suspect was reported to be engaging in self-inflicted harm. Standard procedures were employed to subdue Soto-Espinoza without additional force.

The seriously injured individual, identified as 28-year-old Adrienne Monique Ramos, was transported to Kern Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. Death was attributed to stab wounds, according to the county’s official medical examiner’s office.
