A local news source has verified the identities of the two individuals who were victims in a fatal shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday in the Town of Middleton.
According to accounts from family associates, David Pabst, who holds the position of State Patrol Bureau Director, and his spouse Teresa, often called Teri, have been confirmed as the deceased.
Law enforcement officials from Dane County reported that a man and a woman were discovered lifeless at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday in the 8500 block of Stonebrook Circle.
Investigators are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths, with the probe designated as a double homicide investigation. The suspected individual involved in this case has since taken his own life during a stand-off in Vernon County on the same day and has not been publicly identified.
In response to the passing of Teri, the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District released a statement expressing deep sorrow. They noted that she would be greatly missed by the community.
Teri had a long-standing association with Kromrey Middle School, where she worked from 2017 to 2022; her roles included being a special education teacher, a support staff member, and a case manager, as well as involvement with the life skills program.
Dominique Ricks, the principal of Kromrey Middle School, described Teri as a beloved and influential figure in the educational setting, recalling her compassionate nature and dedication to helping others.
