Fatal Tallmadge shooting death of Dennis Vietmeier
Police have identified the deceased man as seventy-five-year-old Dennis Vietmeier. He was fatally shot by his own son on Sunday. Officials initially reported the incident at eleven hours and thirteen minutes.
The Summit County authorities were dispatched after receiving a call about a shooting in the 500 block of Cynthia Lane. The individual who placed the call, Ryan Vietmeier, the deceased’s forty-three-year-old son, informed them that he had recently fired a weapon at his father. At the time of the report, the father was reported to be without vital signs. Dennis Vietmeier suffered an injury from a gunshot affecting his upper body and was taken by emergency services to a medical facility known as Summa Health. The local medical examiner’s office later confirmed that the older Vietmeier was pronounced deceased.
When responding teams arrived at Cynthia Lane, they located Ryan Vietmeier present at the scene. Law enforcement took him into custody without encountering any issues. He has been formally accused of two offenses: murder and domestic violence. On the following day, July seventh, a preliminary hearing took place at the Stow Municipal Court. The younger Vietmeier is currently being held at the Summit County Jail facility.
