Fatal car crash death of Aiden Martinez
San Antonio police are investigating the death of a 5-year-old boy whose body was discovered inside a parked car after his parent apparently forgot to drop him off at school. The incident happened Wednesday in the far west San Antonio area.
SAPD Chief William McManus stated that the individual responsible had a standard schedule involving picking up the child from Pinnacle Kids Academy prior to starting their workday elsewhere. In this instance, the parent neglected to attend to the child’s pickup, driving directly to their workplace instead. The child identified as Aiden Martinez, was subsequently left alone in the vehicle.
Later in the afternoon, upon returning home from work, the parent visited the school and discovered the child had not been collected. This is when the boy’s body was located inside the car. Police are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the death to determine if it was an unintentional accident or whether criminal negligence played a role. The family is reportedly experiencing significant emotional distress.
Chief McManus utilized the tragic incident as a warning, emphasizing the importance of checking the back seat of any vehicle before locking the doors, particularly in the warmer climate of South Texas.
