Eric Corrales Dies in Fatal Manassas Collision; Driver Lacks License

Fatal Prince William car crash death of Eric Corrales

Local authorities are investigating the death of 40-year-old Eric Corrales, identified as the operator of an electric scooter involved in a fatal intersection crash in Manassas on Tuesday evening.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene located at the crossing of Portsmouth Road and Ashland Avenue around 8:58 p.m. on July 9th. Law enforcement officials stated that a 2020 model Dodge Journey made a left turn onto Ashland Avenue when an electric scooter, moving southbound along Portsmouth Road on the sidewalk, entered the intersection without coming to a complete stop.

Corrales, who resided in Manassas, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. He was transported to a medical facility, where officials confirmed his death the following day.

The occupants of the Dodge vehicle suffered no injuries. The 37-year-old driver, identified as Little David Arris Bowser Mason, also from Manassas, was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid license according to preliminary reports. Charges have been filed against Mason for driving without a valid license, and he was released pending a court summons.

The ongoing investigation is currently determining the exact circumstances of the accident and is assessing the need for any additional charges.

Prince William Police Department officials confirmed the investigation is still active.
