Carra Niverson dies in fatal Omaha car crash
Fatal Omaha car crash death of Carra Niverson
Omaha authorities have confirmed that a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Thursday afternoon. The incident took place around 4 p.m. near the intersection of 10th and Martha streets.
Police investigations indicate that a northbound Chevrolet Trailblazer approached the scene. The Trailblazer collided with a northbound Jeep Cherokee that had stopped at the traffic light. Following the impact, Carra Niverson, who was 63 at the time, was pinned between the two vehicles.
Niverson was transported to a medical facility but succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Jeep, a 36-year-old individual, received minor injuries. The 52-year-old operator of the Trailblazer vehicle suffered critical injuries and is receiving medical treatment.
The Omaha police department is continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding this fatal collision.
