Fatal Eastpointe stabbing death of Jennifer Harris
Identified individuals in the Metro Detroit area have named the manager from a local McDonald’s who tragically lost her life through an act of violence perpetrated by an employee. The event occurred on Thursday.
According to law enforcement officials, the individual who perished was Jennifer Harris, a 39-year-old woman who was a mother to six children and had been employed at the specific McDonald’s location situated on 9 Mile Road near Kelly in Eastpointe for more than ten years prior to this incident.
It is reported by investigators that a disagreement emerged between the suspect and Ms. Harris on the day of the incident. This disagreement led to her being sent home from her work duties earlier than usual.
The 26-year-old suspected employee returned to the restaurant premises around the early morning hours of 8 a.m., armed with a knife according to official accounts. The suspect is alleged to have then carried out an attack, stabbing Ms. Harris.
Police further stated that an individual who was present attempted to intervene by firing a shot in an effort to halt the assault. Witnesses subsequently managed to stop the suspect as she attempted to leave the area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fired shot.
Further information indicates that the accused individual holds a valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
