Fatal Elkhart hit-and-run death of Caleb Watson
ELKHART, Ind. – Emergency responders provided aid to two individuals at a crash scene involving a vehicle and a motorcycle, resulting in one fatality. Law enforcement identified the deceased as 31-year-old Caleb Watson.
The incident happened around 10:02 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, at the junction of John Weaver Parkway and County Road 6. Police were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report about a collision where a car struck a motorcyclist. Upon their arrival, officers found a 25-year-old female passenger alongside the injured man, both passengers of the motorcycle at the time.
The man, identified as Caleb Watson, was taken to a nearby hospital with critical and potentially fatal injuries. The woman received serious but non-life-threatening medical attention. Tragically, Watson passed away the following day.
Investigators have linked a Jeep Liberty to the suspect vehicle but have not yet apprehended anyone. The Elkhart Police Department is urging anyone with information about the hit-and-run to call 574-295-7070.
