Fatal Edinburg car crash death of Jose A. Reyna
A 65-year-old man from Hargill passed away on Saturday due to a single-vehicle accident, as confirmed by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The unfortunate incident happened around 3:59 p.m. on Saturday along FM 2812, which is west of Brushline Road and north of Edinburg, according to a press release from the DPS.
Initial probes showed that the 2006 Toyota Tundra, which had an unknown female operator and a passenger, lost control for reasons not yet explained and swerved off the path.
The vehicle then collided with a solid fence and a traffic light mast, DPS reported.
The individual who passed away, identified as Jose A. Reyna, was not secured by a seatbelt during the collision and was thrown from the automobile.
Both people were taken to a hospital, but Mr. Reyna did not survive his injuries.
The DPS is continuing to look into this occurrence.
