Fatal Hargill car crash death of Jose A. Reyna
Sunday brought tragic news as authorities confirmed the death of a Hargill man following a serious accident north of Edinburg. Law enforcement reported that a single-vehicle collision claimed the life of Jose A. Reyna, 65, and officials cited his lack of seatbelt use as a contributing factor.
The Texas Department of Public Safety documented the incident, identifying the deceased as Jose A. Reyna. According to the preliminary findings from DPS, the crash happened around 3:59 p.m. on Saturday. The involved vehicle was a 2006 Toyota Tundra traveling eastbound on Farm-to-Market Road 2812, west of Brushline Road.
Investigators stated that the truck, carrying a female driver and Reyna as a passenger, veered off the road for unknown reasons. It then collided with a retaining wall and a traffic light pole. The DPS report emphasized that Mr. Reyna was ejected from the vehicle because he had not secured himself with a seatbelt.
Both Mr. Reyna and the female driver were taken to DHR Health facilities in Edinburg. Regrettably, Mr. Reyna succumbed to his injuries. Texas Department of Public Safety personnel are continuing their examination of the incident to determine the full circumstances surrounding the accident.
