**Timothy McNaughton Dies in Fatal Clark Memorial Bridge Car Crash**

The operator of a moped who lost his life in a serious accident on the Clark Memorial Bridge has been confirmed by the Jefferson County coroner.

Forty-nine-year-old Timothy McNaughton died as a result of the injuries he received during the incident on the bridge back on July 10.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, the crash happened around 6:15 p.m., when McNaughton’s moped collided with a bridge support structure.

He was declared dead at the scene shortly after the collision.

Police indicate that McNaughton was heading north when he struck the curb, which led to him losing control of his moped and impacting the truss.

It has been reported that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The bridge was closed for nearly two hours before being reopened.

The Louisville Metro Police Department’s traffic division is currently examining the circumstances of the crash.
