Fatal Leon County car crash death of Christopher Gorman
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced to KBTX that two individuals lost their lives in an accident occurring late Tuesday morning in Leon County.
According to the initial probe, the mishap took place at the intersection of FM39 and CR344 precisely at 5:58 a.m.
A 1999 Peterbilt semi-truck was moving north on FM39 and was making a maneuver to enter CR344.
A 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe, also heading north, collided with the truck and was subsequently lifted by its undercarriage.
The Santa Fe’s operator, identified as Matthew Sovick, aged 44, and the passenger, Christopher Gorman, aged 49, both from Bryan, were declared deceased at the accident site.
DPS indicates that the examination of the incident is still in progress.
