Fatal workplace accident death of Tyquavious McMillian in West Point
A fatal industrial mishap occurred in West Point, Mississippi, involving Tyquavious McMillian. The incident took place at the PLUM Creek Environmental facility on Industrial Access Road sometime before 9 a.m.
According to Clay County Coroner Alvin Carter, the 21-year-old man was assisting another person with a skid steer machine. It is believed that McMillian placed his hand inside the equipment during this operation. This action apparently caused the machine to unexpectedly activate and then strike Mr. McMillian.
The Aberdeen resident did not survive the incident and passed away at the scene. West Point police, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the Clay County Coroner’s Office are conducting an investigation into the workplace accident.
