Law enforcement authorities reported a stabbing incident in the southern region of Bakersfield on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the death of a female individual. The suspect involved in this fatal act has been secured by the Bakersfield Police Department, who identified him as Derrick Williams, aged 50.
According to the Kern County coroner’s office, the female victim named Gabriela Flores Rodriguez, who was 54 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene after receiving medical intervention. The stabbing occurred in the front yard of a residence located on Ream Way.
Dispatched by police to the 5800 block of Ream Way around 4:28 p.m. were responding officers who found the injured woman. Williams was taken into custody without any reported issues, and authorities seized the weapon used in the stabbing.
