Fatal Randall County shooting death of Kristie Harris
A female individual was shot during a July 3rd drive-by incident in Randall County and subsequently passed away. According to official reports, Kristie Harris sustained a head wound from gunfire while in the 11000 block of Double D Road. She received medical attention at a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries on July 15th. An autopsy has been officially requested by authorities.
This shooting incident triggered a search operation that culminated in a law enforcement standoff later the same day at a residence situated on South Spring Street near Oakdale Elementary School. The sheriff’s department mentioned that the suspect involved in the standoff surrendered peacefully.
Two individuals have been arrested by the Randall County Sheriff’s Office in relation to this case. Anakin Harrison was taken into custody on July 3rd charged with aggravated assault involving a deadly weapon. Jacob McCormick followed suit, being booked on the same offense on July 8th.
Sheriff’s investigators are currently evaluating additional criminal charges against these suspects. These potential additional charges will be formally presented to the Randall County Criminal District Attorney’s Office for their assessment. The ongoing investigation is still in progress.
