Fatal Nebraska car crash death of Dorinda Segebrecht

Officials from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin have confirmed the identity of the woman discovered deceased inside a vehicle following a collision in Nebraska. The incident took place on Wednesday morning along the I-80 corridor near Lincoln.

According to reports, the driver involved in the accident had initially evaded a traffic stop before losing control of the vehicle and crashing into the median barrier, ultimately resulting in the car entering a nearby creek. Nebraska State Patrol investigations revealed that the driver, identified as 23-year-old Gavin Thompson, was the one who fled the scene on foot.

Lancaster County deputies later located Thompson and took him into custody. Authorities stated that Dorinda Segebrecht was found in the backseat of the vehicle, with indications that she had passed away prior to the crash occurring.

At this time, Thompson is being held at the Lancaster County Jail under local charges including eluding law enforcement and driving in a reckless manner. Additional criminal charges may be filed in Nebraska. Wisconsin law enforcement has indicated that Thompson also faces serious accusations such as first-degree intentional homicide, burglary with a weapon, concealing a body, and operating a vehicle without authorization.

A press conference is scheduled to be held by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office on Friday at 2 p.m. to provide further updates on the case.
