Law enforcement officials in Fort Smith have named the individual suspected in a tragic shooting incident that happened during the early morning hours of July 18th.
According to information provided by the Fort Smith Police department, 42-year-old Ashley Lensing was identified by authorities through the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. Police reports indicate that Lensing is being held on charges related to a parole violation. Officials stated that during the period when the fatal shooting took place, Lensing was reportedly present alongside 25-year-old Hunter Harrell, a resident of Eureka Springs.
The fatal shooting occurred around 4:45 a.m. on July 18th at the 1300 block of North 38th Street. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered the body of 39-year-old Jerry Beane. The investigation concluded that Beane’s death was caused by a gunshot wound. Since the death was ruled a homicide, the authorities are treating the incident as a murder investigation.
Hunter Harrell, who is 25 years old, was identified as the primary suspect by investigators later that same day. Harrell was arrested by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and is facing serious charges, including first-degree murder and a charge of discharging a firearm from a moving vehicle.
The ongoing investigation has not indicated the involvement of any other suspects at this time.
