Fatal El Paso car crash death of John Tobias
El Paso authorities have confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist killed during a Fourth of July collision on I-10. The deceased has been identified as John Tobias, who was 30 years old.
According to the Special Traffic Investigators, Mr. Tobias was part of a group of motorcyclists when he separated from the others at the Angel Garcia interchange. At this point, he encountered an unidentified truck that proceeded onto Loop 375 south.
The investigation indicates that Mr. Tobias lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the center guardrail for unknown reasons. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and transported him to a hospital. Despite medical intervention, he later passed away from his injuries.
El Paso police officials state that Mr. Tobias was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. “Our Special Traffic Investigations team is actively examining this case and encourage anyone with potentially relevant information to contact us,” said a police official. “Contributions can be made to our non-emergency line at (915) 832-4400 or through Crime Stoppers of El Paso at (915) 566-8477, with the option to remain confidential.”
