Fatal San Antonio car crash death of Jose Hector Guerra

San Antonio law enforcement is actively searching for suspects who abandoned a stolen vehicle after it collided with a trailer attached to a bus on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of four individuals inside. The initial collision caused the bus to lose control, leading it into the path of an 18-wheeler, which subsequently struck the bus and caused it to overturn, as per an incident report from the San Antonio Police Department.

The white Chevrolet Camaro was traveling at high speed along Interstate 35 near Cassin Road when the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. According to San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus, at least one of the four people who exited the car was believed to be carrying an AK-patterned rifle.

The bus, owned by Transported Guerras, was en route to Eagle Pass from Fort Worth, as stated by a company representative. Instead of reaching their destination, fifteen passengers were taken to the hospital, including several minors. By Friday afternoon, one minor and two adults were reported to be in stable condition in the hospital.

Our sister station, WFAA, confirmed through family sources that a 50-year-old individual named Jose Hector Guerra, also known as Tito, was among the fatalities. He was confirmed to be the driver of the bus at the time of the accident.

Miguel Guerra identified Jose Hector Guerra as one of the four fatalities from the collision involving the stolen car and the bus he was operating in southwest San Antonio on July 18, 2025. The Bexar County medical examiner identified the other victims as a 69-year-old man named Rosalio Aguilera and two unidentified women, aged 42 and 78.

Further investigation by KENS 5 revealed surveillance footage from northeast Bexar County, taken three days prior, showing two individuals stealing the Camaro from a driveway. Police have confirmed that this vehicle is the same one involved in the fatal incident. However, the two individuals seen in the video have not yet been identified as suspects in connection with the crash, and it remains unclear if they were present in the car during the high-speed pursuit on Thursday.
